Meet Dr. Dev Mishra
Dr. Mishra is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. He joins the practice with a focus on biologic and nonsurgical therapies for sports injuries and osteoarthritis. In the last few years there has been tremendous advancement in the nonsurgical options available for active individuals such as platelet rich plasma, amniotic fluid injection, umbilical cord fluid injection, and adipose cellular transplant. Dr. Mishra’s approach with patients is to take a goals-based approach and offer treatment options across the spectrum from nonsurgical treatment to surgery.
He is a graduate of Yale University, with a degree in architecture. He lettered in soccer and tennis at Yale. He then completed medical school and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego, then completed fellowship training in orthopaedic research from UCSD and sports medicine from UCSF. He was a team physician at Cal Berkeley from 1994 to 2003, team physician with the Oakland A’s 1999 to 2002, and US Soccer from 1994 to 2019. He is an active fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Outside of medical practice Dr. Mishra maintains active business interests. Currently he is the founder and president of Sideline Sports Doc LLC and medical director of Apeiron Life. Previously he held positions as lead consultant at Stryker Endoscopy, chief medical officer at AlterG and Cayenne Medical, and venture partner at SV Lifesciences. He and his wife Cathy have two grown sons, they live on the peninsula and can be frequently found riding their horses, walking their dogs, or on the golf course.
